Time sure does fly!!!

Well tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I haven't updated my blog in FOREVER!!! I just thought I would post a few things that I am thankful for and then add some pictures later.
I am thankful for:
*An eternal companion
*That same eternal companion who is willing to go anywhere to make sure that our family is taken care of. Even if it is thousands of miles away and he has to be all by himself.
*My children - who are mine all mine!!!
*Our home... even though it is a very modest, humble home. Logan even said the other day when it was a blizzard outside that he was thankful for a warm home.
*My cell phone... so I can talk to my hubby as many times a day as I want.
*My new job that I love so very much!!!!
*My laptop!!! Without it I would be so unconnected. =0)
*My neighbors - who have all been taking such good care of me while Dave is gone.
*My friends - who are ALWAYS there for me.
*The holidays - there just isn't anything like this time of year - dontca think??
Ok... thats all for now. I am sure I will think of more later.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Last weekend I thought it would be fun to actually go and do SOMETHING, so we ended up going to Classic Skating in Orem. I watched the boys for about 15 minutes and decided I needed to skate too. We ended up staying for 3 hours and were totally exhausted, but had tons of fun!!!

End of Summer Fun!!!

Where oh where did our summer go?? It seems like we were very busy all summer long!?! So we decided to cram in a full day of fun on the last day before school started. We first headed down to the skate park in Payson and played for a few hours, then went and had lunch and then came back for a few hours at the Payson pool. We have loved going to the Payson pool and as soon as we discovered it was there, we have been back quite a few times.

4th of July

We sat and waited and waited and waited for the parade to start in Provo, and we finally got to see Dakota marching with his band. Then there was the trick of getting out of there.....

Dakota is the 2nd from the left.... He was pretty worn out by the time they got to the end of this parade. We hope you all come down and see him march at the 24th of July parade in Spanish Fork.

We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo

What is funner than the zoo???? Getting into the zoo for free!!! =0) Hogle Zoo had a military appreciation day at the zoo, so we all got in for free. We even got to bring our grandson Gannon along for the day. We had tons of fun. It was nice and overcast all day, so it wasn't too hot. And just when we were just about done for the day, it started pouring rain. Good thing we were done. =0)

Memorial Day

Memorial Day once again brings the family all together..... We visited both the Spanish Fork Cemetary and also the Santaquin Cemetary. We also visited the Stickney cabin in Santaquin. Every year Grandpa tells us stories about our ancestors... I am so thankful for our family.

Hi.. my name is Wendi and I'm an etchaholic

I have learned how to use my vinyl machine to make the stencil's to etch glass and I have been etching like crazy!!! I can't believe it is sooooo easy. Let me know if you have anything you want etched and we can have some fun!!! =0)

Childrens Museum

For Spring Break we decided that we needed something fun to do, so we ventured up to the new Childrens Museum at the Gateway Mall in Salt Lake. We spent a couple hours going from the first floor to the second floor, back and forth... it was tons of fun. And even Dakota said that it was even fun for a 14 year old. =0) SCORE!!! I guess I made a good choice.

Jazz Band Concert

Yet another Jazz Band Concert and Dakota got to play the first song. He was very nervous but did an excellent job.

I decided with Trevor going to boot camp and my mom being sick, that it was finally time to get a whole group picture. We finally after numerous attempts have been successful in all getting together at the same time. I think it turned out pretty darn good. (Thanks Christy for being our awesome photographer)


And here we are, just our family. Man! It sure is tough to get this many people to smile at the same time. Why do kids have to be such boogars????

Draper Temple Open House

We were able to attend the Open House for the Draper Temple this afternoon. The boys were pretty excited that they got to get out of school to go. =0)

Me, Dakota and Hunter were able to attend with the YM & YW of our ward a while ago, but we were able to attend again with all of us. My mom even came along. The temple had quite a few wheel chairs available and we pushed her along the whole tour. It is an awesome thing to be able to bring my family - when usually it's just me and Dave. I love the fact that even my rowdy teenager boys can feel a sense of peace inside the temple and give them something to hopefully hold onto and work towards.

The family that plays together...

We recently implemented a family game night and so once a week someone gets to pick the game that we play. This week was Logan's choice, and of course he picked Twister. I opted to be the spinner and of course photographer. =0) I couldn't help but to snap this picture of all of my cute bums all up in the air. hehe

What a great day!!!

We had such a good day today. Logan was baptized and we had our family there with us. It was a very emotional day for us. (maybe because he's the baby???) Afterwards, we went out for breakfast with my brother and his family and Travis and his family.

It was discussed that Logan was the youngest grandchild for Daves parents and therefore the last to be baptized and then we realized that JP was the oldest grandchild, so what a perfect photo opportunity. hehe It was pretty cold in the gym, and Logan is barefoot, so he is freeeeeezing, can you tell. hehe =0)

In God We Still Trust

I was just sent this video on my email, I am sure that it has gone across the world and back, but this was the first time I had seen it. I loved it! I thought that I would share it with all of my friends. Upcoming times are scary and unknown, but if we just believe in our Heavenly Father and have faith, we're not supposed to be afraid. I know that is easier said than done. I am trying to have faith. =0)

I thought this video was patriotic, so I am sharing these pictures as well. Some of you have already seen them, I know. The first picture is of Dave in Afghanistan and some of the people he worked with getting an award. He is the cute one kneeling down in front. The other one is my favorite one of him in Pakistan in front of one of the Pakistani trucks. It was a very hard time for both of us, but we both also grew a lot too.

I know that the whole war is a highly debated topic, but I was thinking the other day, that if I, as a military wife, who has everything to lose sending her husband away to war, is still very supportive of the war and doing what we need to do to protect our country, then why do other people have such a problem??? I don't know. I guess today is my day to stand on my soap box and preach. And hey, it's my blog, I can say whatever I want, right?? hehe I am very proud to be Dave's wife. And.. isn't he just HOT in uniform. Yeah, I thought so!!!

It's great to be EIGHT!!

My baby is 8 today!!! I just can't believe it. We went to Jumping Jacks and played on Saturday night, since his birthday was on Sunday and then we had family over for cake and ice cream tonight. I just can't believe that he is 8 already!!! What a cute boy.

Logan just loves to help shovel snow.. I sure hope that lasts for when he can really "help" =0) So I am just about done with all this snow... what about everyone else?
